Happy Birthday Mom! You are beautiful!

I am so blessed to have a completely incredible mother! My mom is so much fun! I hope that she is able to go skiing today! My mom is an amazing and she is really good at skiing. As a little way of saying Happy Birthday Mom, I just wanted to share a memory about the amazing lady who raised me.
When I was little and my mom would bake she would let me stand on a chair next to her so that I could reach the counter and "help" her bake. I am sure I was probably more trouble than good but I loved feeling useful as I tried to taste the dough and help bake the cookies. One day when my mom and I were baking I smelt the vanilla and LOVED the way that it smelt. It smelt so delicious and wonderful I begged my mom to let me taste it. She told me that she had done the same thing with her mom and that vanilla does not taste as good as it smells. I continued to beg her saying that I would like the flavor even if she didn't. It smelt so amazing that I was convinced it could not possibly taste bad. Finally my mom let me taste just a little bit of vanilla. It was awful of course but I was and am still so grateful that my mom let me try the vanilla. Like most things in life my mom gives me wise advice and steps back and allows me to make decisions.  Here is a picture of my Mom and I at Hans and my wedding.

Isn't she beautiful?

Bike Trip Part VII

After meeting Tony and getting SO much help from him Hans and I worked at Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center as volunteers for a day. It is a really cool place and I would absolutely encourage you to call and see if you can volunteer for them if you belief in what that camp is all about. I'm sure it's googlable. Yep it is.  Any ways. I think that was fun. It was also great to get time with my grandparents. From there Hans and I biked to Tillamook where there is a fantastic Cheese Factory!!!! Also they have amazing ice cream. I would visit that town just for the cheese and ice cream. Truly.

Honeymoon in Cold Cali

Hans and I spent some time in California honeymooning and hanging out. Unfortunately it was FREEZING which came as a huge surprise to me. I didn't even pack a sweater. Hans was very kind though and bought me  a lovely fleece that says, "Seal Beach" on it. I AM A FAN. Anyways. We mostly forgot about having a camera with us. One day we laid on the VERY cold beach and some how managed to get sunburnt. Here are a few of the pictures that did happen. Sorry for the poor quality and enjoy the peaks into the memories!
